Signify Illuminates Future of Design with "Light & Beyond" Event, Showcasing Sustainable and Connected Innovations

Makati City, Philippines – July 16, 2025. Signify, formerly known as Philips Lighting, the global leader in lighting, brought together visionary designers, architects, and professionals at the Light & Beyond event, held at the Ascott Hotel Makati, for an exciting discussion on sustainable lighting innovations.

Guided by its purpose to unlock the extraordinary potential of light for brighter lives and a better world, the event emphasized how cutting-edge lighting technologies can go beyond illumination, empowering healthier spaces, smarter energy use, and more sustainable environments across both indoor and outdoor applications.

“At the heart of everything we do is a deep commitment to sustainable innovation,” said Raghuraman Chandrasekhar, Country Leader for Professional Business, Signify Philippines. “We design solutions that not only light spaces beautifully but also respect our planet. And when we talk about the future, there’s no ignoring the power of connected lighting and ultra-efficiency, transforming how we manage energy, environments, and experiences. This is a journey we take together with our specifiers. They are not just partners; they are co-creators of the future.”

The Light & Beyond program was structured around five transformative solutions, each demonstrating how Signify is redefining lighting through sustainability, digital connectivity, and human-centric design:

1.     Philips UltraEfficient LED

Engineered to consume significantly less energy while delivering high-quality illumination, UltraEfficient LED lighting enables long-term savings and reduced environmental impact, paving the way for low-carbon, cost-efficient lighting across commercial and residential spaces.

 2.     Interact Connected Lighting System

The Interact System showcased intelligent lighting controls for both office and outdoor settings. In the workspace, it enables data-driven energy management, enhances productivity, and provides actionable insights for space optimization. For outdoor environments, Interact Outdoor Multi Sensor delivers reliable “dusk till dawn” operation and motion-based “light on demand”, streamlining energy use and maintenance.

3.     Circularity through 3D Printed Luminaires

Emphasizing the shift toward a circular economy, Signify unveiled 3D-printed lighting fittings made from bio-circular materials. These luminaires can be reprinted, refurbished, reused, and recycled, creating a closed-loop product lifecycle that drastically reduces waste and carbon footprint.

4.     NatureConnect – Human-Centric Circadian Lighting

Recognizing that people spend up to 90% of their time indoors, NatureConnect was presented as a revolutionary solution inspired by nature. Using Bioup Circadian Lighting technology, it replicates natural daylight rhythms, improving mood, sleep quality, and productivity through customizable "Day Rhythms" and dynamic Natural Light Scenes tailored to human activity.

 5.     Solar Lighting Solutions – Zero Energy, Maximum Impact

Designed to bring light where it’s needed most, Signify’s solar lighting portfolio delivers off-grid, zero-energy lighting, expanding access to sustainable lighting in underserved communities. It reaffirms Signify’s belief that light should be accessible, empowering, and environmentally responsible, no matter the location.

Throughout the event, Signify underscored the vital role of specifiers in turning innovation into meaningful impact. Their knowledge, creativity, and real-world experience help shape lighting solutions that are not only visionary but also relevant, implementable, and human-centric.

“Everything we achieve, every solution, every milestone, is the result of close collaboration with specifiers,” Chandrasekhar added. “Their insight drives us to innovate better, design smarter, and push the boundaries of what lighting can do.”

The Light & Beyond event was more than just a product showcase; it was a reaffirmation of Signify’s mission to lead the world toward a connected, sustainable, and brighter future, hand in hand with the professionals who bring these solutions to life.
