PlayTime and Gawad Kalinga Break Ground for PlayTime Playground in Cavite

PlayTime, a leading brand in online entertainment games, took a significant step towards empowering communities through physical play with the groundbreaking ceremony of the first-ever PlayTime Playground inside the Gawad Kalinga Village community in Hugo Perez, Cavite. This initiative, a key project under PlayTime CARES (Community, Action, Relief, Empowerment, and Sustainability), aims to provide safe and engaging recreational spaces for children while promoting health, wellness, and community spirit.

The PlayTime Playground, designed with an Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) setup, will encourage active play, resilience, and community engagement among children in Gawad Kalinga-supported communities. The project aligns with PlayTime CARES’ mission of fostering Community, Action, Relief, Empowerment, and Sustainability, reinforcing the company’s commitment to creating meaningful social impact beyond the digital space.

“We’ve been very blessed and we want to share our blessings. This time, we want to support GK with playgrounds combined with OCR. We hope this will be a great help and make the community happy,” said Jay Sabale, Senior PR Manager for PlayTime.

“As early as now, we want to thank PlayTime CARES for this project. For us at GK, it is so important for a setup like this to be built, mainly because in a time where digital gadgets have become the children’s main instrument for playing, physical activity is very much needed. And through the PlayTime Playground, children will become more active, and will help in their personal growth and development,” says Mark Gomez, GK Area Team Leader, CALABARZON, and NCR Regions.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by representatives from PlayTime CARES, Gawad Kalinga, and local community leaders, marking the start of construction for the much-anticipated playground. Once completed, the PlayTime Playground will serve as a hub for interactive learning and physical activity, reinforcing the value of play in a child’s holistic development.

“We at Gawad Kalinga are delighted and excited about this project,” says Vangie Sesma, Gawad Kalinga Partnership Manager. “Now we can say that we have a decent and safe playground for the kids in our community. This playground will not only bring smiles to the children in our community but also nurture their well-being and creativity.”

Following Cavite, PlayTime and Gawad Kalinga plan to roll out more PlayTime playgrounds in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, expanding the reach of this impactful initiative.
