Sun Life spotlights inspiring stories of Filipino entrepreneurs

This is the message highlighted in Sun Life Philippines’ latest short films featuring the remarkable stories of Filipina business owners, Lorna Otsuka and Framie Jose. Their inspiring journeys, featured in the videos entitled “Legacy” and “Resilience”, are sure to inspire those who dream of turning their passions into profit.  

 

The Recipe for a Strong Legacy

 

“Legacy” tells the story of Lorna Otsuka, owner of the popular Hanakazu Restaurant in Muntinlupa City. More than just a business, Hanakazu is the heart of her family and community, built with passion and love alongside their dedicated employees. However, when life threw a curveball her way, she was faced with the daunting task of continuing the restaurant’s legacy. With the help of Sun Life, Lorna was able to leverage the additional income from her policies to ensure the restaurant’s continued success.

A Sweet Surprise in Hard Times

 

“Resilience” features Framie Jose, owner of Hermanas Bakehub, whose life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. She once questioned the need to plan for illnesses, but she discovered that planning for the unexpected can bring unexpected blessings. Thanks to Sun Life, Framie was able to continue pursuing her business plans despite her circumstances. Just as in baking, where perfect results are not always achieved on the first try, Framie’s story emphasizes the importance of being resilient amidst times of adversity.
